The 2023 ReWild America Holiday Gift Guide

Clark Griswold single-handedly keeping the Christmas spirit alive.

With Christmas around the corner, we wanted to share some gift ideas that will save your loved ones from receiving ties and tootsie rolls.

Some of the products below are from companies we’ve been using for years, and some are from ones we want to try. The one thing they all have in common is that they are made in America.

We have a guide for him, her, and the little ones.

Gifts for Him - Picked by Chris Laramee

  1. American Giant is manufacturing durable clothing right here in America, even sourcing their cotton from American farms. Some say their classic full-zip is “the greatest hoodie ever made.” I recently picked up a pair of their Dakota Straight jeans, and they fit and feel great.

2. Pulling out your Leatherman multi-tool at the right time can take you from zero to hero with one expert application of the needle nose pliers. I carry the Free P4 with the pocket clip - it’s useful for fixing Christmas ornaments or cutting off your arm trapped by a boulder in the wilderness. Made in Portland, Oregon.

3. L.C. King garments are made in the great state of Tennessee, and they’re saving the world from skinny jeans. They manufacture tough, durable workwear clothes that can withstand moving off-trail or a long day on the farm. I’ve been eyeing their Duck Barn coat.

4. From hunting knives to kitchen cutlery, Breese Forge knives are beautiful, durable, and hand-forged in Texas. They’re a great accessory for any ensemble.

5. Perma Earth has the largest collection of animal-based, made-in-America skin care products I have ever found. Add some beef tallow and pine needles to your pregame, and you won’t be able to keep the ladies off you.

6. US Wellness Meats are 100% grass-fed and delivered right to your door. I love the primal cut ribeye. Nothing says I love you more than gifting that special person in your life a 6-pound steak. I’m able to get 12 steaks out of one primal cut.

7. You’ll need a good pan to cook your ribeye on the coals of your campfire. Lancaster Cast Iron pans are hand-made in the USA, and they are poured, finished, and seasoned by hand in Southeastern Pennsylvania.

8. I love my Duluth Pack Wanderer (pictured above). Made of rugged canvas and hand-cut leather. When you strap this pack on, you instantly become a mountain man, and your back gets twice as strong. Say goodbye to all those made-in-China, sissy, polyester packs.

9. What would a gift guide be without stocking stuffers? Imagine the joy in that special person’s eyes when they see the butt-stock of a Daniel Defense rifle sticking out of their stocking. They are engineered and built in Black Creek, Georgia.

10. You can’t call yourself prepared until you have at least one wool blanket in your inventory. You don’t have anyone special in your life to gift you it? Treat yourself and then use it to wrap up and cry yourself to sleep while you think about why you’re still alone. Oh yeah, the blanket is from American Woolen, and they’re made in New England.

Gifts for Her - Picked by Danielle Laramee

  1. Taylor Made Organics. Organic skincare and makeup products made in Port Republic, VA. All organic ingredients. They do use seed oils, but the ingredient list is much smaller than any other makeup brand I have come across.

2. Chesapeake Coffee Roasters. Our favorite organic coffee is here! We love River’s Edge. A portion of their income supports the local community, the environment, and a cleaner Chesapeake Bay.

3. Simple Mills. We love the ingredient lists on most of these products! They are seed oil- and gluten-free and use organic ingredients (no artificial ones). They use and support regenerative agriculture, and all products are made in the USA or Canada.

They have premade mixes for holiday bakes (pictured above). When their mixes call for “oil,” we use organic coconut oil. They also have fun Holiday Recipes you can give a try with some of their ingredients along with some of your own!

4. Styled Grit. This is a woman-owned business. She only sells clothing and items that are made in the USA. Some materials are imported. Items range from clothing, to jewelry, candles, hats, and more.

5. Classy Cozy Cool.  Another woman-owned business that offers women’s clothing and accessories. All items made in the USA. Ranging from jeans to sweaters, tops and bottoms, to hats and handmade jewelry.

6. Buy Me Once. This company has a collection of gifts that are made in the USA, ranging from sturdily-made bags and skillets to heirloom toys and flatware. We linked the section above, but we also like what this site stands for. Buying quality items that last a lifetime. Reducing waste and lessening the need for excess items around the home.

7. Harvest Array. This is a hub for all things American made. Check out all the categories above. You can find outdoor needs, furniture, toys, clothing and much more.

Gifts for the Kids - Picked by Danielle Laramee

  1. Tenth & Pine. Kids clothing brand designed and made in the USA using organic, all-natural fabrics. Based out of Las Angeles, CA made by Moms for Moms.

2. Explore the Outdoors Books. Books for kids about hunting, fishing, and wildlife. Made by a Texas father who wanted to share his love and respect for the outdoors with his children. They also sell onesies, shirts, stickers and patches.

3. Timber Sprout Toys. Began in this couple’s basement with no experience in woodwork and has grown due to their high quality and safe products. Handmade wood toys from St. Louis, MO. They use natural wood and seal their products with coconut oil and beeswax. They are free of dyes and stains, fragrances, BPA, phthalates, mineral oil, chlorine, arsenic, and lead.

4. Crochet Mama Boutique. Handmade crocheted/wooden toys, blankets and hats by a mom in East Tennessee. She aims to keep items and toys simple.

5. Amish Toy Box. Fully wooden games, toys, ride-on toys, and playsets/furniture. It started with a family doing this on the side as a hobby and has turned into a business for them. All their toys are made in the USA by Amish and Mennonite Craftsmen.

6. American Made Baby Products. Began with a mom looking for products for her baby that were made in the US but had difficulty finding them. The team checks each item to ensure that every product sold on the site is made in the USA. If it’s within their knowledge that any parts or ingredients are imported, they will state that on the item’s page. You can find a wide range of children’s products. Including clothes, accessories, toys, feeding and bath items, nursery and sleep items, and more.

We hope you find our 2023 ReWild America Holiday Gift Guide useful and fun. Through it, we aim to support America's local businesses, health, and resilience.
